A little background on this build and design.
Based on the German MG-34, with little modifications the came up with this iconic looking heavy blaster rifle. Big means big toys for bad guys, Sand Troopers, Scout Troopers and Death
Troopers and also for the Inferno Squad this base is used for multiple versions as the D and X version.
My intention is to have all 3 designed beginning with the base the ANH version.

I have build a lot of DLT's over the last 5 years and all are awesome but based on the currently best files of Tom Campell, his basic design is good but I had to modify it on a lot of points to
make it electronics friendly, travel friendly and strong and light weight. Also in my opinion it lacked some nice details. Not his error but a wise choice at that time. Resin printers and FDM
printers could not print that high and fine detail yet so it makes sense. Now in the era of resin printers and better FDM printers its time for a totally new model, designed with all the extra
details in mind and the modifications already in place. And the best part of this all is that I can share the files with you.
In this tutorial and behind the scene page below I will show you all the research I did, the proces of working with my designer and the print, build and painting process. And Maybe even add some
BlastFX in the process.
This is Tom's model, a great design and pretty accurate.
But as I said I had to modify it on a lot of fronts to make it as I want my blasters to be.
Electronics friendly
Functional trigger
Easy to breakdown in 2 or 3 parts
Supported with metal or PVC tubing
What I could not modify was all the little details.
In the slide show below I will post some of his images and you can see its a great model for its time.
I had a good evening on the internet searching for high quality pictures and found a good amount of them. Glad I know my way around on how to find these.
I am not going to address all the steps here but this is kinda what Skylu and I do, go back and forth and little steps. Reviewing all the thing, deciding what needs to be done, needs to get in or
left out.
Looking for practical solutions without compromising the looks and structure of the blaster.
