3D Printing tips what will help you print better.
I will add tips along the way, on each project I will run into some things that I would like to share with you. When that happens it will pop-up right here an din the Patreon page.
If you can find a metal tube 32x370MM try to get that, it will offer a better base to build your blaster around. PVC or acrylic will do also.
When you start setting up your printing, note that all parts are best printed solid / 100% infill.
this adds extra weight and strength. Also with only two outer walls most parts will print faster because infill is printed faster compared to walls.
Just dont try to save a buck on a print by printing with low infill, the life span of your prop will be a lot shorter.
With a full print bed/plate you have the risk that due to FEP suction a part could
come loose.
When all the parts are connected by the rafts you risk to loose your whole print
project simply because once on parts comes loose it will take the rest down with it.
Simply avoid this by separating the parts with a couple of mm. When one parts fails
the rest can still be printed with no problem.
This is the easy way to mimic the ironing effect as in CURA in Simplify 3D. There is a more complex way to force your printer to iron the top layers of flat surfaces. ... By faking the size of your nozzle and reducing extrusion to nothing, the printer makes several overlapping moves, ironing out ridges and making the extrusion lines less discernible. But that's a way more advanced and skilled way. For now, we will keep it to printing the top layers in processes with a 0.1 layer height.
